When you are stressing or languishing in anxiety, nervous energy is building up in you. Shouting actually dissipates the energy negating the effects of stress on the body. Seriously, try it.

Some situations that cause stress, like a job or a recital can be changed. It is within your power to make a change to eliminate that stress. But then there are situations beyond your control like a vindictive ex spouse in a divorce or a lawsuit. In the extreme cases where you have to deal with something that is outside your sphere of influence, you need something extra. That something extra is 5-HTP. Some people use alcohol or illegal narcotics. These in the end take a toll and make things worse. 5-HTP is a legal and natural mood enhancer. There is no “high”.
